Jeff Haskins is the media officer for our Nairobi, Kenya office. His work includes handling media relations for client events and activities in Nairobi and across Sub-Saharan Africa. This includes bringing media to the field to see our clients' work in action.
Jeff joined Burness in February 2003, and has worked primarily in agriculture, environment, and global health. He has worked with clients such as the Global Crop Diversity Trust, the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), the Tropical Forest Trust, and the Rights and Resources Initiative.
As part of this work, Jeff has overseen media promotions across Asia, Europe, and sub-Saharan Africa. He co-led the media relations operation on site for the opening of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. Some 22 outlets and 50 journalists were in attendance for the opening, which took place in the side of a mountain in the Arctic Circle. His strategic media relations skills regularly land media coverage around the world.
Jeff earned his bachelor's degree from St. Lawrence University in New York, where he majored in sociology and spent time studying and traveling in East Africa and Europe.
