Marianna joined Burness Communications in February 2011 as a Strategist for BurnessDigital. In this role she helps non-profits use social media to build community and conversation to advance social change. Prior to joining Burness, Marianna served as a Program Associate at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation where she managed projects including Vote & Vax, Start Strong, and Strengthening What Works. While there, she also helped advance the use of social media by foundation staff and in programming.

Marianna received masters’ degrees in public health and social work from the University of Michigan, and a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Smith College. A native of Washington, D.C., Marianna lives in Philadelphia, with her husband, Nathan, and son, Elias.
