As a Strategist at BurnessDigital, Laura contributes a broad set of skills in graphic design, video and web development. She is responsible for digital media support, outreach and monitoring for a range of nonprofits, including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Tropical Forest Trust and the Northern Virginia Health Foundation.

Before joining Burness in March 2011, Laura served as a Graphic Designer and Copywriter at the Safety Planning Group and as an Africa Programs Intern with The Hunger Project. She currently serves on the board of the Friends of the Mercy Children’s Centre, which supports the efforts of the Centre, a grassroots school serving AIDS orphans in Kenya.

A native of California, Laura relocated to the east coast to study political science and drama at Tufts University. In her spare time she enjoying travelling, cycling, theatre, and the outdoors.
