Kathy joined Burness in May 2011 and works primarily on the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Connect Project, an effort to help grantees of the Foundation build relationships with Members of Congress and other policymakers.

Prior to Burness, Kathy interned at TwinLogic Strategies, a bi-partisan lobbying firm where she assisted with planning political events and research for corporate and non-profit clients. She also worked as a clerk for the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research at the Food and Drug Administration.

She graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2009 with a degree in Political Science and Latin American studies. Having lived abroad throughout Latin America and a native of El Salvador, she is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French.
