As a senior associate at Burness, Jemma Weymouth brings expertise in strategic communication, media relations and writing to a variety of projects with Health Affairs, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, among others. She also trains nonprofits on working with the media, effectively delivering messages, and building support for their causes.
Prior to joining Burness, Jemma was a senior associate at Metropolitan Group, working with non-profit organizations, foundations and public agencies on a wide range of issues, including health, education, immigration, and community and economic development. Clients she worked with include W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the YMCA of the USA, and the National Council of La Raza. Jemma has also worked for the Capital Area Food Bank, assisting with marketing, public relations and special events.
Before moving to Washington, D.C., Jemma provided communications, public relations and marketing services to consumer and corporate projects in the U.K., which included promoting smart growth real estate development and retail destinations.
Jemma earned her bachelor’s degree in media, culture and society from the University of Birmingham, England. When she’s not in the office, Jemma is hiking, biking and generally enjoying the great outdoors.
