Andrew Peters joined Burness Communications in July 2009 as member of the Public Policy team, where he supports the efforts of nonprofit foundations and their grantees to build relationships with members of Congress and other policymakers. He works with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Connect Project, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, and the Markle Foundation, among others. Prior to Burness, Andrew worked in the Government Relations department at Carnegie Mellon University, assisting with major events and working on community relations. Additionally, Andrew interned in the Press Office of Sen. John Kerry and at The Heinz Endowments in Pittsburgh, PA, where he wrote a feature story for the Endowments' magazine and provided communications support. Andrew graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelor's degree in Ethics, History, and Public Policy.
